Perseverance:)

“Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.” ~Newt Gingrich

When you persevere, you are defying the odds! Persevering is about showing the world you CAN, when everything else is telling you that you can’t! Persevering is succeeding after knowing what failure feels like!

Do you remember a time where you had to persevere through something difficult or challenging?

It is not as easy as it may sound and we certainly are never given fair enough warning when tragedy does strike our lives. Unfortunately, we are not given an instruction manual on how to deal with the challenges that we are currently facing or the ones we will face in our future. However, perseverance is not something that you have to learn, thankfully it’s a strength that’s within all of us. Yes, we do have to learn that failure is not an option and that in order to persevere, you must keep going, but not many of us ever just give up on everything. We all have a certain level of perseverance in us! And our job in life is to keep trying! We aren’t perfect, we will make mistakes, and we will be sad, mad, angry, and disappointed a lot more down the road from today, but isn’t it wonderful to know that you ARE going to make it? Let’s assume that all the odds will be in your favor from now to the time you turn 80… How amazing, the amount of perseverance that you would show in those several decades, right? Here’s my list of things WE can do as beautiful humans to help make life seem a little more “guaranteed” :

  • Quit all unhealthy habits! Abstain from drinking, smoking, doing drugs, driving recklessly, acting impulsively, lashing out at others, bad judgement, bullying, cussing, being mean, eating unhealthy foods, rumoring, getting revenge, etc., etc.
  •  Exercise!
  • Talk about your feelings!
  • Love always!
  • Laugh A LOT! 😀
  • Eat nutritiously!
  • Drink plenty of water!
  • Hug the ones you love!
  • Smile every day! 🙂
  • Read good books!
  • Watch pleasant T.V.
  • Play fun games!
  • Take walks!
  • Enjoy being alone, sometimes!
  • Do an art project!
  • Buy a delicious smelling candle and enjoy it!
  • Try new things!
  • Get good sleep!
  • Say, “I love you!”
  • Love yourself!

Create your own list of beautiful things to help keep you healthy and alive! My list is only a starter to help inspire your thoughts! 🙂 Remember to keep persevering! Stay strong! 🙂

“Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.” ~Unknown
