“When we are no longer able to change a situation – we are challenged to change ourselves.” ~Viktor E. Frankl
At some point in your life, you’re going to have a change in perspective. A certain event or person will change the way you see the world. Sometimes it’s going to be a great experience and other times, it might be the most painful lesson you ever learn. No matter what, you will find afterwards that you never quite see the world as simply as you used to. Things will change and the lens you look through may be harder to see through or perhaps you will find that the view is better than ever! Everyone you meet will teach you something. At first it might be complicated and difficult to understand, but a big part of living is about learning. We must teach ourselves what pain feels like and afterwards we must learn from that pain. We must learn to take that pain and turn it into a lesson. A lesson that teaches us how to better cope with it for the next time. People are not in your life to always be a friend to you, in fact, they’re sometimes put in your world to be the very opposite of that. The question you need to ask yourself is, “What did I learn from that person and/ or experience?” People aren’t always going to give you what you expect from them. Everyone has their own unique way of viewing the world and learning. It’s our job to let people live, learn, and support them in how they decide to handle different situations. We must learn to judge less and love more, to forgive but never forget, and to feel things without letting those things harm us too deeply. Learn from everything you go through. The good…. the bad…. the tragic… and the beautiful.
“Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes.” ~Hugh Prather
